September’s kit from Annie’s Hook and Needle Club turns out to be one of the more sought after items of a crocheting portfolio — Crochet Socks. Most of my students at some point in their crocheting journals will express an interest for crocheting a pair of socks. So this kit is a welcome addition to the 35 kits I have received so far.

Happy Feet is written for an intermediate crocheter and will require a D crochet hook. The kit comes with a pattern in either crochet or knitted form. You can choose the one you prefer, I am not a knitter, so for me it is always the crochet pattern.

The kit came with 2 skeins of super fine weight yarn in a black and blue and purple variegated hue. I really love the rich color of the yarn that will match perfectly with some of my winter wardrobe.

Besides the basic stitches of the chain stitch (The Chain Stitch), single crochet (The Single Crochet) and double crochet (The Double Crochet). You will need to also master the foundation double crochet, single crochet decrease (Single Crochet Decrease) and double crochet decrease (Double Crochet decrease).

It looks like a fun and quick project that will help pass the cold winter afternoons. What projects do you save for those winter days?

Until next time, keep those hook flying.
