Annie’s Hook & Needle Club sent me an adorable baby sweater project for my 25th kit. This was perfect timing for this kit as I was looking for a baby shower gift and when the mother announced that she was having a girl. I just knew this was the gift planned for this little newborn to be.

The Little Princess Baby Sweater is an easy level pattern that requires both a H and 7 size hook from my own tools. The kit will supply 450 yards of medium (worsted) weight acrylic pink yarn but in addition to the hooks you will need a tapestry needle, sewing needle, 5/8 inch button, and matching sewing thread to complete the sweater.

The pattern was easy to follow and very understandable. This would actually be a good pattern for a crocheter who would like to get her feet wet this area. Besides the basic stitches of the chain stitch and single crochet, you will need to have a working knowledge of the single crochet decrease (Single Crochet Decrease) and the the extended single crochet (extended single crochet).

The yarn they sent was a breeze to work with and the color was a gorgeous shade of pink. I just wish it wasn’t in unmarked labels as I would have loved to been able to buy more of it.

This was not a fast kit for me, as it took me a few weeks to finish. You will want to make sure you read the instructions carefully and make the pieces in order. It really helped to used the stitch markers so, be advised or otherwise you might lose your spot.

I am rating this kit a 9, losing one point for the yarn being in unmarked labels. If your have received the same kit would love to know if you enjoyed it as much as I did. As for me, I am anxiously awaiting a picture from my cousins new baby adorned in this Princess Sweater.

Until next time, keep those hooks flying.
