Have you reached that stage in your crocheting journey where you are ready to try something new and a little different? Then the single crochet drop stitch is just the one for you. It is worked in the same way as the basic single crochet is but with a little twist, the starting placement of the hook.
I will be working the tutorial in two different colors to help you follow better throughout the instructions. The drop stitch will be worked in the white yarn.
Step One: Insert hook in sp indicated, (Picture Above)
Note: A drop single crochet is worked two rows below the row you are working.
Step Two: draw up loop to height of working row, (Picture Above)
Step Three: Yarn Over and draw through 2 loops on hook. (Picture Above)
Congratulations, you have just completed your single crochet drop stitch. Just remember the trick to crocheting a drop stitch is knowing where to put your hook when working the stitch. Otherwise the stitch is worked the same way as a basic single crochet.
Until Next time, keep those hooks flying.
I like that one! Gives single crochet piece completely new look! 🙂 Thanks for reminding!
