In the mail this week I received my first Christmas project. Annie’s Hook and Needle Club has sent me my 22nd kit; poinsettia Place Mats. A nice festive touch to add to the dinner table around the Holidays.
The kit came with enough yarn to make two place mats. This included two skeins of fine sport red, green and yellow cotton yarn, and two skeins of sport weight white yarn. There is also 2 patterns; one for crocheting and one for knitting. To complete the kit I will need to provide an F size crochet hook and a tapestry needle.
The patterns are marked intermediate, which will be a nice challenge for our less experience crocheters. In addition to the basic stitches of the chain stitching, single crochet and double crochet, you will need to know how to crochet the bobble stitch using treble stitches.
I have gotten behind in working my kits and have set the next week aside for nothing else. Hopefully I will have the review posted by next weekend on the four I have not finished.
Until next time, keep those hooks flying.
