When I arrived home yesterday I was greeted by a yarn bundle from Red Heart. Red Heart has prepared and sent to our home, a tote full of selected yarn for me to try – and review on Crochet With Passion. With this being our first experience at Crochet With Passion in receiving free products to crochet with and then critiquing, I am in a state of excitement that is beyond words today.

If you have not guessed it by now, I am passionate about crocheting, yarn, and any thing associated with it. So you can imagine how jubilant I am this morning. This yarn also brings with it a doubly pleasure because it is all yarn I have never crocheted with before.

I am using the descriptions from the Red Heart web sight to describe each one, since each skein is new to me. Note the following;

Sassy Fabric is a unique soft, sheer fabric strip with evenly spaced holes to make it easy to knit or crochet. The fashion prints include polka dots and animal prints in wonderful wardrobe-enhancing shades. Priced at $10.49 each.

I received one in “Red Dot” and it is super bulky in weight and is 100% polyester.

Red Heart has partnered with iconic baby photographer Anne Geddes to make this wonderful yarn. It is a perfect blend of acrylic and nylon that makes it super soft and just the right weight for those special baby things. You’ll love the color range and the adorable patterns! Priced at $4.19 each.

I received two skeins, the colors are “Grass” and “Rosie” and both are of a light weight and in made of 80% acrylic and 20% Nylon.

Basic 3-ply acrylic yarn with added reflective thread wrap that makes this yarn reflect light, aiding in nighttime visibility. Reflective component shows up amazingly well in flash photography. See for yourself how it lights up. Fun to take photos and share them on social media! Priced at $6.29 each.

I received two skeins, both colors say “peacock” on the labels. They are obviously different colors, I will make a note to myself to check further into it at a later date.

Lastly is Swanky, a basic yarn with oval shaped sequins added to it. Yarn and sequins are dyed to match for a stunning look. Priced at $6.29 each.

I received one skein in “Midnight Blue” in a medium weight. The yarn is 62% acrylic and 38% polyester. This is one I wished they had sent three skeins instead of one, I can already see it crocheted into a beautiful shawl.

I also received a large nylon canvas tote in the bold colors of red and black. It has one large inner pocket and a small exterior pocket on the front side. As most crocheters know, an extra tote always comes in handy at one time or another.

I am so looking forward to searching through patterns and launching out on the new adventure with the different yarns. First I need to finish the projects I am working on now. I am finishing up an IPad cosy and a shawl this week, then I would like to start our next pillow from “Crochet Along” I started in January. I would like the second one posted before the end of March. As usual my fingers are itching to start multi projects, but there just is not enough time. So I will stick to my limit of three projects, and look forward to the new ones.

If you have worked with this yarn please contact me as I would love to hear your experiences in working with them.

Until next time, keep those hooks flying.
