It is the first week of March and I have finished part one of the Woven crochet afghan. The filet mesh base. It is composed of dc (Double Crochet) and ch (The Chain Stitch) stitches so it worked up pretty quick. Although it was not the colors I originally picked I really like the way it came out.
To be honest I have done the filet pattern before and was not too concerned about crocheting this part of the Afghan. What seems more of a challenge to me is part two, the weaving part will be a new experience for me.
I will need to put the Tartan Afghan aside for a couple of weeks. It is March which means I have two birthday’s in which I plan on crocheting two small projects (a book marker and eye glass case) Shhhhhhhh – it’s supposed to be a secret! Then there is Easter which is just right around the corner; so I have enough on my plate to keep my hooks flying thru March.
Than again I am anxious to get back to the Afghan…
Until next time keep those hooks flying.
I love the colors and the stitch you used but what yarn did you use??? If I can ask 🙂

This Afghan is for the most part composed of Worst weight (4) Red Heart Super Saver Yarn. The colors are Tea Leaf, Hunter Greeen, Frosty Green, Black and Aran. The yellow is from Orlon Sayelle. I hope my son and daughter in law love the colors as much as you. It is a housewarmer gift for their first house.
